The life of an introvert person is usually complicated , they can be judged as weirdos but it is just complicated to being friendly. If the person is too easy going people can asume that he does not care about anything and if the person goes into the other side people can asume that they are just a bad person…

The thing with introvert people is at the very beginning they look to fit into the new group of guys that can be new or existing… It is the same pressure on both sides, this usually converts the scenario into a mind battle which is looking for a balance that can fit into the group and it can be good or be a fully disaster.

Why is this important to be selected on a new job ?

Well it is really important because the first impression is everything and the guy on the other side is trying to understand the asset that can be hired for certain position.

This scenario on a introvert person can be reflected on how they introduce their self with the interviewer , they can have amazing credentials and experience and even a good past of team work but if they are not able to summarize that into a proper description the result can be negative.

In order to help people with this kind of problems I’m going to write a set of things that can help anyone to express in a better way about their own skills:

  1. Try to pick the biggest milestones that you have in the last position that you cover and split everything into soft skills ( people management , understand vague requirements and specially deal with a team) and then list all the skills that are related with the position that will be covered ( certifications , account stuff , software engineer topics among others ) . This should be covered in 5 minutes at top .
  2. The step mentioned before gave you the door to explain what were the biggest goals being achieved during your last position. At this point try to talk without provide confidential data but focus on show how your skills helped to increase the numbers of the company. This also should be covered in 5 minutes at top.
  3. At this point you already have your skills being covered and also they are justified on how both things can generate results and have a good impact as a future asset. The next thing to talk is about what you enjoy the most, this step is probably the most important because the interviewer can hear from you what are the things that you enjoy and this can open the door in case that step 1 and 2 matches with the position. This also can close it but it will be a good thing because you do not want to finish in a job without enjoy what you are going to be doing. This can be done in 5 minutes at top.

At this point we have a solid set of things to talk in 15 minutes, if for any reason there are questions in the middle it can be expanded and just include the details that were asked and keep going with the script that was prepared previously.

The regular interview workflow includes a set of questions that usually are being created after the first 15 minutes of talk, just keep focus on answer them in a short and concise way. Do not being afraid in answer ‘ I do not know ‘ and let them know that you will review the concept that was asked.

At the very end , request for feedback even if the general feel was a good result it is a good thing to get details from your plan and this can be used to improve the script generated for the interview.
